LISA GAINEY

Has been a Licensed Massage Therapist in the Puget Sound area since 1992 and has worked in a variety of settings, from private practice and hospitals to medical spas. Ever since she started massage therapy, one of her areas of concentration has been women’s health and wellness. She has completed professional continuing education in pregnancy and labor massage, infant massage, and advanced women’s bodywork. In 2002, she completed Doula training with Susan Lawler and Palmer Scheutzow. In addition to these modalities, she also has education and experience in oncology massage, cupping therapy, gua sha, deep tissue and aromatherapy.

Her massage sessions at TBI are a blend of modalities and she currently utilizes deep tissue, aromatherapy, cupping and gua sha techniques. As a Tacoma native, Lisa is passionate about giving back to our community. To help serve the pediatric community, she is an active participant in the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees event and BRIDGES; A center for Grieving Children and The Moyer Foundation Camp Erin. Which is a grief and loss camp for children.

She is married with two children, and her youngest child was born at The Birthing Inn! She believes in holistic care, restoring health, partnering with her clients and other providers on supporting wellness goals, and enjoys establishing long-term relationships with her massage clients. During her family time, she enjoys hiking, traveling and running 1/2 marathons.
