Lisa Gainey is a skilled therapist and her unique combination of techniques are consistently effective in restoring health and wellness. Her work is a blend of modalities and she currently utilizes deep tissue, aromatherapy, cupping and gua sha and pregnancy massage techniques into her sessions.
Lisa has been a Licensed Massage Practitioner in the Puget Sound area since 1992 and has worked in a variety of settings, from private practice to hospitals to medical spas. Ever since she started massage therapy, one of her areas of concentration has been women’s health and wellness. She has completed professional continuing education in pregnancy and labor massage, infant massage, and advanced women’s bodywork. In 2002, she completed Doula training with Susan Sherwood and Palmer Scheutzow. In addition to these modalities, she also teaches professional massage training in oncology massage, cupping therapy, gua sha, deep tissue and aromatherapy.
As a Tacoma native, Lisa is passionate about giving back to our community. She currently serves on the Clover Park Technical College Massage Therapy Advisory board and in 2017, she volunteered as a committee member for the Susan G. Komen Puget Sound Lunch for a Cure. To help serve the pediatric community, she is an active participant in the Festival of Trees event and the BRIDGES: A Center for Grieving Children, both Mary Bridge projects, as well as Camp Erin, the Moyer Foundation’s grief and loss camp for children.
She is married with two children, and her youngest child was born at The Birthing Inn! She believes in holistic care, partnering with her clients and other providers on supporting wellness goals, and enjoys establishing long term relationships with her massage clients. During her family time, she enjoys hiking, traveling and running 1/2 marathons.
