Our Classes

Out-of-Hospital Birth Preparation Workshop

This comprehensive, evidence-informed childbirth education workshop is designed for parents planning an out-of-hospital birth at a birth center or at home with a licensed midwife. You’ll gain the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to prepare for physiologic birth while also understanding how to navigate unexpected situations if your birth takes a different path.

Whether this is your first baby or you’re adding to your family, you’ll leave understanding not only what happens during labor and birth, but why it happens, how to work with your body, and how to make informed decisions throughout your birth experience.

During this 5-hour workshop, we’ll cover:

Physiological Labor & Birth

Out-of-Hospital Birth & Midwifery Care

When Birth Takes an Unexpected Turn

Advocacy & Informed Decision Making

Partner Preparation

Birth, Baby, & Postpartum

Cost: $325 per couple

Small class size (maximum 6 couples) allows plenty of time for discussion and personalized questions. My goal isn’t to teach you one “right” way to give birth. It’s to help you understand the normal process of birth, prepare for the unexpected, and walk into your birth feeling informed, supported, and confident in your ability to navigate whatever your birth brings.

This Register button will take you to our sign up where you can sign up for the out-of-hospital workshop.

In-Hospital Birth Preparation Workshop

This interactive 5-hour workshop prepares you for the realities of labor, birth, and the unexpected. You’ll learn not only what happens during birth, but why, what your options are, and how to confidently navigate decisions if your birth takes a different path than planned.

Whether you’re hoping for an unmedicated birth, planning an epidural, scheduling an induction, or preparing for a cesarean birth, you’ll leave feeling informed, confident, and ready.

During this 5-hour workshop, we’ll cover:

Labor & Birth

Hospital Procedures & Interventions

When Birth Takes an Unexpected Turn

Advocacy & Informed Consent

Partner Preparation

Birth Preferences & Postpartum

Cost: $325 per couple

Small class size (maximum 8 couples) allows plenty of time for discussion and personalized questions. My goal is for every family to leave feeling prepared, not fearful, and ready to walk into the hospital knowing what to expect and how to navigate whatever birth brings.

Body Ready Birth Workshop

The Body Ready Birth Workshop is a comprehensive one-day class that includes online access to educational videos and information after completion. Please note that this workshop is specifically focused on body mechanics and positioning during labor and is not a comprehensive childbirth education class. We strongly recommend taking a full childbirth education birthing class as well, ideally early in your pregnancy, to ensure you have complete preparation for your birth experience.

In the Body Ready Birth Workshop, you’ll learn how to work with your body’s natural design during labor. You’ll discover what to do with your body during each stage of labor, when to use specific positions and movements, and why these techniques help labor progress smoothly and efficiently. We’ll cut through the endless tips and tricks you find online and focus on what truly works, giving you evidence-based techniques that support your body’s innate birthing abilities.

By the end of our body ready birthing class, you’ll have complete confidence knowing exactly what works best for your body and how to use movement and positioning effectively throughout labor. Plus, your partner will learn specific, hands-on techniques they can use to actively support your progress and provide comfort during labor and birth.

Your body was designed for this incredible process – let us help it remember how!

Highly recommend this absolutely wonderful place for in-person birthing classes! We ended up having some private class sessions with Sarah, who not only thoroughly explained all the key aspects of childbirth and newborn care for two clueless first-time parents, but did so in such a supportive, realistic, and encouraging way. She took the time to address both my questions/concerns and my husband's, making us feel heard and prepared throughout the process for what we needed. Between the diagrams, charts, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and the genuine interest she showed in us as people, she created such a welcoming and caring learning environment. We took the classes a few months ago, and now that our baby has arrived, we're still using and remembering many of the tips, tricks, and information she taught us. That speaks volumes about how practical and effective the classes were. We are incredibly grateful for Sarah and everything she taught us. She helped us feel far more confident going into the birth of our first child. As a side note, while I didn't deliver at the Birthing Inn, I was able to see the facility during our classes. The rooms and overall environment felt calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, and they looked like wonderful spaces to accommodate a variety of birthing preferences and needs.

A few months ago I gave birth to my baby girl at The Birthing Inn with Midwife Brandy. It was a phenomenal experience and I am forever grateful for her care. I switched to TBI from a larger practice because I wanted a more personal experience where i could talk and learn from my midwife, not get 5 minutes with a provider and then not know who would attend my birth. The team at The Birthing Inn is compassionate, professional, and extremely knowledgeable.

I had such an amazing experience at the Birthing Inn for my first baby! All of my appointments leading up to birth were wonderful. I had Midwife Brandy for most of my care, and she was incredibly helpful and informative at every visit. She really prepared me for labor and also offered great birthing and newborn classes that made a huge difference. My labor ended up being very long, but Brandy stayed by my side through it all and supported me every step of the way. The birth room experience they provide is truly special and made such a big impact on my first birth. Ayla at the front desk was always so friendly and welcoming. She even offered a drink every time we came in, which made the whole experience feel extra comfortable and personal. I also had a few appointments with Midwife Kay, and she was great as well! I will absolutely be coming back here for future children and always recommend this place to my friends. Overall, such a positive and empowering experience highly recommend!

I had both my babies here. Best decision I made. Honored to have Susan - feel safe with her knowledge and expertise. Positive relationship. Kid friendly office. The care I wish every mom would have! I appreciate the long appointments and personalized care - specific to me and my needs. Real choice and consent, not forced. Educate benefits, risks, and alternatives. We discussed my birth plan... no extra decisions to make during labor. 😌 We also discussed and had Plan-B ready, in case. They have that all worked out in the system. Highly recommend doing your care with a midwife you trust !
