Supporting You Through the Postpartum Period, we here at The Birthing Inn believe strongly that, during this postpartum period as in pregnancy and birth, women deserve to be nurtured and supported.
With so much emphasis placed on the transformative time and event of your baby’s birth, the postpartum period is often left behind in classes, books and conversations with others.
Sometimes called the “4th Trimester”, the 3 months following birth are a dynamic and unique part of a new mom’s journey. A new mom’s body experiences incredible healing and physical changes during the postpartum period. There may be profound emotional adjustments, as relationships within the growing family are redefined. New moms may feel tender and vulnerable with their sense of self.
As you and your baby are getting to know one another and you’re figuring out your new role as a mom, it is not uncommon to feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or even a bit fearful. Having a safe and nurturing space to share your thoughts and experiences helps greatly in building confidence and creating positive feelings moving forward. If you need a listening ear and understanding we urge you to contact one of the local support professionals below
“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new". – Unknown
